Purvi Shah, a 33 year-old graphic artist who lost her 3-year-old son Amaey to acute myelogenous leukemia -a cancer that affects blood cell production, over a decade ago is now helping patients express themselves through art. During the time Purvi spent in hospital with her son she distracted him by drawing and painting, with her projects attracting a crowd. Since then her informal art therapy sessions have grown into a nonprofit called Kids & Art Foundation which has raised more than $68,000. The Foundation 'provides Arts workshops to children with cancer and their care circles to improve their well-being during treatment, as survivors, and in bereavement. children who participate explore and deal with their emotions'. Every day, 43 children are diagnosed with cancer.
Walking into a store wearing a Kaepernick American football jersey, and asking about the cost of X-Box One Video Console, 11 year-old Jaden Watts was overhead saying he was saving to get one as his parents couldn't afford to buy one. He was approached by Washington running backs Keith Marshall and Rob Kelley who complimented him on his jersey, before approaching the boy's grandmother to ask if it was okay to buy him the console and a game. The pair got together and bought it for him. Kelley had overheard Watts talking about having to save up to pay for an Xbox, and thinking “I wish someone would’ve done something like that for me when I was growing up”.

Brief: Refurbishment offering sustainability as well as extension of an old 1950s villa.
Theme: Situated by the edge of a National park and nature reserve. Interior offers spacious and well thought out living spaces all connected to each other and offering natural light and a concrete extension with a patio. Concrete beams and the use of glass in use all through helping the house blend in well with the surrounding environment.
